Wool. It’s clothed us and kept us warm for thousands of years. It’s still one of the most popular materials in use worldwide for clothing today thanks to it’s superior (to most synthetic fibres) warmth and comfort.
It’s natural anti bacterial properties minimise the effect of allergens and body odour. Phew! Oh, and it’s one of the safest fibres to have in the home due to it’s high flame and heat resistance. Wool is also naturally durable and dirt resistant standing up to family wear and tear for years without suffering from the worn out, tired appearance most synthetic fibres get after a year or two of use.
Merino wool
Originally from Spain, Merino sheep are smaller than your average sheep and have no horns. Merino wool is prized for its much finer and softer fibres which give it a much higher warmth to weight ratio and makes it possible to blend with silk and cashmere.
Although Merino products are more expensive than their standard woollen cousins or synthetic counterparts, economically, they more they make up for it with their durability and the many other natural benefits the Merino wool fibre provides.
We recommend dry-cleaning as the best way to care for your wool throws or blanket.
Wishing you lots of happy snuggle time :) and remember, all our throws are woven on a handloom and therefore no 2 will be exactly the same. Natural and unique!
